Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) announced that he has procured $10,000 in state funding for the Guardian Brain Foundation. The grant will help the Foundation provide support services to patients with brain tumors/injuries and their families.

The Guardian Brain Foundation is a volunteer group whose goal is to raise awareness, provide support services, advance neuroscience research, and improve the quality of life for people diagnosed with injuries or tumors of the brain. The services provided by the Foundation, including transportation to medical appointments, emergency home maintenance, and mental health support, make the quality of life easier and less stressful for patients and their families.

“The Guardian Brain Foundation is an important group of dedicated volunteers who provide comfort and help to patients and their families during very trying times,” said Senator Fuschillo. “This funding will assist the Guardian Brain Foundation in offering these valuable and humanitarian services.”

“The Guardian Brain Foundation is grateful to Senator Fuschillo for providing us with this funding,” stated Founder and President Mary Pallotta.  “We thank Senator Fuschillo for his dedication and support of our mission.”

The Guardian Brain Foundation was created in 2003 by Mary Pallotta after her brother Dennis lost a three month battle with a cancerous brain tumor.  By raising awareness and offering compassion to those in need, Mary and her family have taken the pain and channeled it towards making a difference in the lives of others.
