Chinese auction raises big $$$ for Guardian Brain
A rainy evening didn’t stop 92 people from making a difference this month as Robin Tirsun presented a Chinese auction dinner to benefit The Guardian Brain Foundation held at Del-Mir Caterers at North Shore Synagogue.
What an amazing job Robin did. I would like to thank her for her hard work, dedication and support in making a difference and becoming a true guardian.
Over 60 Chinese auction items were donated by many merchants, ranging from a Waterford perfume bottle, to gift cards, tickets to shows, photo sessions, ranger tickets, autographed items and much more.
We would like to give a very special thank you to the wrapping committee, all the volunteers and to DJ Joe Tardi from MME, who volunteered his time. Over $6,000 was raised.
The Guardian Brain Foundation is a nonprofit public foundation. Our Medical advisors are some of the most gifted neurosurgeons and doctors in the world. Our medical advisors, along with our board members, are a group of volunteers who believe in the quality of life and in sharing compassion. We provide support services to children and adults with injuries and tumors of the brain.
On November 5, we will have our Eighth Annual Butterfly Ball and honor Kay Murcer, who for 42 years was the wife and life partner of Bobby Murcer, who played in Yankee pinstripes for 13 seasons and remains a member of the organization as management, coach and broadcaster for 25 years.
